Jadwiga Cutrone is a New York State Certified School Psychologist with extensive experience in offering psychological services to children, adolescents and their families. Dr. Cutrone specializes in the psychological treatment of a variety of difficulties impacting the wellbeing of individuals across the life span. Working with both children and adults in clinical and school settings, Dr. Cutrone has specialized in the treatment of trauma, general and social anxiety, panic attacks, and mood regulation difficulties, including depression.

Dr. Cutrone strives to provide an individualized approach to therapy that is strength-based and promotes empowerment, insight, and healing. She regards the relationship between the therapist and the client as one of the most important therapeutic factors that are critical for creating a space conducive to healing. Dr. Cutrone seeks to build a connection with her clients that is based on trust, mutual respect, compassion, and understanding. She offers an eclectic approach that integrates techniques from a variety of evidence-based practices, such as psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy and mindfulness-based practices. Dr. Cutrone has clinical experience in utilizing Exposure-Response Prevention (ERP), the gold standard treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. 

Dr. Cutrone earned a Doctorate in Psychology from Adelphi University and a Master’s in School Psychology from the City University of New York, Brooklyn College. She is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). Dr. Cutrone supervises school psychology interns and externs in public school settings, training the next generation of mental health professionals. She is an Adjunct Professor in the School Psychology doctoral and master’s programs at a local university. Dr. Cutrone is committed to ongoing professional development and remaining current in the field of psychological treatment and evidence-based practices to best meet the needs of her clients.
