Children and Adolescents

Mental health concerns in children and adolescents are common, with as many as one in five young people experiencing a mental health condition at any given time. These concerns can range from mild to severe, and can include issues such as anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), behavioral problems, and trauma-related disorders. Therapy can be a critical tool for addressing these concerns and supporting the mental health and well-being of young people.

College-Age Students

Adults

As adults navigate the challenges of daily life, they may experience a range of mental health concerns that can impact their emotional and physical well-being. These concerns can stem from a variety of sources, including work stress, relationship issues, traumatic experiences, grief and loss, hormonal changes and chronic health conditions.

Some of the most common mental health concerns for adults is anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), issues related to self-esteem, body image, and interpersonal relationships.

Therapy can be a valuable tool for addressing adult mental health concerns and helping individuals achieve greater emotional and psychological resilience.

Women’s Issues

Women face a range of specific mental health concerns that can affect their overall well-being and quality of life. These concerns can be caused by a variety of factors, including hormonal changes, societal pressures, and life transitions. Therapy can be a valuable tool for women to address these mental health concerns and improve their mental and emotional health.

One common mental health concern that women experience are depression and Anxiety.  However, Postpartum depression is another mental health concern that specifically affects women. This type of depression can occur after giving birth and can cause feelings of sadness, irritability, and a lack of interest in the baby.  Many women also experience trauma, including sexual assault, domestic violence, and childhood abuse.  In addition to these concerns, women may also experience other mental health concerns such as eating disorders, substance abuse, and low self-esteem.

Older Adults

Common mental health concerns include depression, anxiety, cognitive impairment, and dementia.  As people age, they may experience a decline in social connections and support networks, which can lead to feelings of loneliness and social isolation.  In addition to these concerns, older adults may also experience other mental health concerns such as substance abuse, grief and loss, and low self-esteem
