Raymond Velez earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from SUNY Old Westbury and his MSW from SUNY Stony Brook before beginning his career working with children, adolescents and adults. Raymond is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has experience in both clinical and school settings that has spanned over 16 years.
His clinical experience has included providing mental health therapy for individuals dealing with issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma, family change, emotional distress and problems at school. He has also provided drug and alcohol counseling services in both group and individual settings. As a school social worker, Raymond has provided counseling services for adolescents with a wide range of needs ranging from Oppositional Defiant Disorder to ADHD and has also implemented student based initiatives related to restorative practices and mindfulness. His therapeutic approach will be aimed at clarifying the client’s specific goals for treatment and cooperatively assisting them in reaching these goals.
